Zanardi and Hakkinen back in F1

Besides the fact that Alessandro Zanardi and Mika Hakkinen both retire in 2001 from Formula 1, "today" they have another thing in common: They both come back in F1. Allesandro Zanardi who lost both his legs in accident in 2001 last Saturday was driving specially prepared car for his needs by BMW Sauber. Engeneers moved the break pedal from left side to the right side of the cockpit so Zanardi will be able to push it with his specially-made prostheses which are shorter than his usual ones. On the left side behind the steering wheel is the paddle for changing gears and on the right side is the paddle for accelerating. Zanardi and BMW were very satisfied with the car and the timing.

Mika Hakkinen will come back and test for his old "crew". McLaren Mercedes actually his old crew is not so old because all this time Hakkinen was driving for Mercedes in the DTM Touring Car Championship. Now Mercedes want to use his F1 experience to obtain his feedback about the new changes made on MP4-21. Hakkinen will replace De La Rosa's testing place in Tuesday.

McLaren Mercedes and BMW Sauber who both finalized driver line up for 2007, now have new options for "new" drivers. So thumbs up for both teams and hope that will see great action this year.
