How to create a romantic atmosphere
Fri, Nov 9 2006
First let me point out that this is not just an article for men, even they sometimes want to be romantically surprised, so girls, I hope you are still reading this.
There are key principles that you should consider I mind, if you miss one, then you will miss the whole thing:
Lighting
There have never been better atmosphere then filling the room with candle light. Light the room with either bright, slow-burning candles or, if possible, the glow from a fireplace to add a warm, intimate tone to the evening.
Music
Set the mood by playing some soft, romantic music. Classical music is usually a safe bet, as are jazz and soul. Beware if you choose for a classical music, it can have dramatic changes in the dynamics of the notes, sometimes forte sometimes piano, so if you choose for classic I suggest knowing the composition well before letting it play.
Decorations
Fill the room with a dramatic array of flowers to add visual interest as well as inexpensive elegance. Flowers are a staple of romance, use them liberally.
The meal
Plan and prepare a simple yet elegant meal. Try to find out beforehand which foods your date particularly enjoys and serve them. Include classic romantic fare, such as Champagne and strawberries.
That's it, nothing to be worry about. As I said in the beginning, you already know this. I was just the little voice in you, telling you that you can do this.
I wish you luck
